Global Entrepreneurship Festival 2024: A Platform for Transformative Change

I recently came across an exciting announcement that should be on every entrepreneur's radar. The Global Entrepreneurship Festival (GEF) is set to take place in November 2024, and it's shaping up to be an unmissable event. Hosted in the Entrepreneurship Village in Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria, this gathering promises to bring together the world's largest assembly of entrepreneurs, innovators, investors, creatives, policymakers, and industry leaders. From November 22-24, participants will converge to explore the theme, “Beyond Boundaries: Poverty Eradication through Entrepreneurship.”

The theme resonates deeply with my belief that entrepreneurship is a powerful tool to address global poverty. This sentiment was echoed by Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who emphasized that the festival represents more than just an event—it is a movement aimed at inspiring sustainable solutions for poverty alleviation. The festival aligns with the outcomes of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly and focuses intensively on advancing the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

What impresses me most is not only the scale but also the scope of this festival. The inclusion of a commemorative boxing bout for the 50th Anniversary of the “Rumble in the Jungle” signifies the festival’s commitment to celebrating innovation, creativity, and the entrepreneurial spirit. This festival promises to engage, inspire, educate, and empower, especially targeting young entrepreneurs as highlighted by Summy Smart Francis, the Special Adviser to the Ondo State Governor on Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

Considering the lineup and the proactive stance on global issues such as poverty, I’m excited to see how the GEF 2024 will shape the entrepreneurial landscape and inspire new approaches to solve long-standing problems. Make sure to follow updates and consider attending this transformative event.
