Ronald Blum

Interests, Sports, Passions: From a very young age, Ron became fascinated with the history and sport of traditional archery. He began making his own bows and arrows at seven years of age, and today, is an accomplished archer of historical styles of shooting from around the world, including the medieval warbow, English longbow, Korean horsebow, Chinese, Mongolian, and Hungarian horsebows, American longbows and recurves, and Native American bows. His shooting expertise earned him an appearance on the History Channel’s “Big History” series, and he is often called upon to work with actors preparing for roles in film and television. Ron organizes and participates in a weekly long-distance Clout shooting tournament at one of the premier archery ranges in southern California, and makes custom-crafted traditional wood arrows for competition and sport. In addition to his passion for archery, Ron has also been a professional screenwriter and film producer, having written for Walt Disney TV Animation, and written scripts for film and television in genres including romantic comedy, action-adventure, thriller, drama and situation comedy.

In 2018 he wrote, produced and executive produced the adventure-action feature film “City of Gold” starring action/villain legends Vernon Wells and Branscombe Richmond, and 80’s icon Christopher Atkins. His most recent project is a futuristic medical-drama series, co-created with his long-time friend and collaborator who has written and/or consulted for “Chicago Hope”, “E.R.”., and “Grey’s Anatomy”.
